2007. Elizabeth Russell explores a sustainability biofuel project with her senior graduation project mentor. Liz lit a spark that started the biofuels journey for a Polk Co. High School English teacher, students, fellow teachers, and community.
Oct. 2012. The school science dept. has worked tirelessly to get this bio systems project going. Thanks to supt. Bill Miller for his progressive caring for students. Our high school students will be doing grad level work with Clemson and Appalachain State.
Oct. 2012. Polk High has Piedmont Biofuel's revamped biodiesel and seed press mobile educational unit on campus. New Earth Fabricators from Seagrove, NC and Professor David Thornton from Clemson also worked on the unit, getting it school-ready.
2010. We make a trip to App. State to learn more about the biofuels, sustainability, and Appropriate Technology programs. Grad student Zack Hobbs gives us a lesson. Zack is now working with the Catawba EcoComplex Biofuels Research Facility.
